This quilt of little blind children is titled "Looking for Miss Caldwell" and it too was done as a Challenge quilt for the guild.I was working on it during the coverage of the 9/11

This penny rug was done in class held by the East Cobb Quilt Guild many years ago.

The last quilt challenge was to do represent a proverb in fabric... while in Minnesota I search through thick books of proverbs putting my favorites down on note cards. This one kept coming to the top of the pile...maybe it was the challenge of taking paper piecing to the extreme or possibly it was the theme... being dyed in the wool tea totaler the topic was beyond my expertise... The proverb is from Kansas in the early 1800's
"Save your bottles it might rain whiskey" The edges of the quilt are not finished with binding allowed it to fray, as part of the label this thought was added by me "When you drink to gain inventory your quiltings are bound to suffer"... my husband thinks it should hang in a wine shop :) K

Adopt A US Soldier

Hey, do you have a few minutes a day or 15 free minutes during the week? Have an extra postage stamp?

Than consider sending a little ray of sunshine to a military service person... There is an organization that is matching volunteer correspondents with servicemen/women... brighten up some young person's day, check out Adopt a US Soldier. Get involved as much as you can. The need is so great that we now have the pleasure of writing to 4 young men. ("Hi, guys!! Thank you for serving...)

Up Dated Project list

Hallelujah, Praise the Lord, and Pass the Ammunition...

I've up dated my project list by removing all the projects that were done in 2008... hopefully this will keep me on track for another year... So far this year I've not fallen into my usual Slug state of mind :)

Hopefully in the next day or two I'll be able to post a photo of a recently finished quilt project..... don't want to post the picture till the quilt is delivered to cats' doctor...mus'unt put a curse on it, you know. They are already closed for today (since it is after 12 noon) so maybe tomorrow it will make the two block journey over to the office...
